There are 2 methods for adding new locations into the database. The first method, described in this section, is the simpler of the two methods. It allows one location and optionally one interval to be added at the same time. Additional related locations and intervals can be added later if desired using the Location Editor.
The second method allows for more complex locations and intervals to be entered. This is referred to as the Multi-Level or Nest method. In that method, several locations can be added at the same time with one of those locations being picked as the ‘master’ location. Also, each location can have more than one interval if necessary.
Regardless of which method is used to add a new location to the database, the Location Editor can be used to switch your location from one type to the other at any time.

The add location feature allows the user to add locations to the database.
The Add Basic Location feature allows the user add new locations to the database. When adding a new location, the user can specify the Site Name, Location Name, Location Type, and Interval information (if applicable).
The Add Basic Location feature is shown below.
Use pull down lists to select Location and Interval Types that are already in the database.
Use the Edit Location Type List button to add a new Location Type to the list.
Use the Edit Interval Type button to add a new Interval Type to the list.
Use the Add Location button to add the location to the database.
Use the Add and Edit Details button to immediately bring up the Location Editor where the user can enter more details including Alternate Name, Aliases, Comments, and Contact Information.
Add Basic Location Window
Allows the user add new locations to the database. Select the Site from the drop down list, type in the location name, and select the location type from the drop down list. If the location has an interval, type in the interval name and select the interval type from the pull down list.
Edit Location Type List Button
Shows the Location Types list (screenshot below) which lists all Location Types currently in the database. Use the buttons located at the bottom of the window to add or delete a Location Type from the list. For more details see section on Location and Interval Types.
Edit Interval Type List Button
Shows the Interval Types forms which lists all Interval Types currently in the database. Use the buttons located at the bottom of the window to add or delete an Interval Type from the list. For more details see section on Location and Interval Types.
Add Location Button
Adds the location to the database but leaves the form open and does not bring up the Location Editor right away.
Add and Edit Details Button
Brings up the Location Editor immediately after the location is added where the user can enter more details about the Location such as Alternate Name, Aliases, Comments, and Contact Information. See the section on Viewing and Editing Locations Details for more information.
